About Sandra Hoffman. . .
a Liliedahl-Certified Oil Painting Instructor
As an oil painter influenced by the 18th and 19th century Realists, Sandra’s work has an old world look to her paintings. Her style is a blend of traditional, academic studio techniques with modern ala-prima color and paint application.
Sandra is the sole owner of an art school located in South Tampa (Sandra Hoffman's School of Oil Painting). The studio is equipped with standing easels, taborets and a video projection system that allows every student to easily view the teacher as she demonstrates painting techniques at the easel. Class supplies can be provided for you for any class, allowing the student to just arrive and paint. It is a wonderful opportunity for a beginner to try oil painting without investing in all the equipment, paints, brushes, etc. Of course, a recommended supply list is available for each class and supplies are also available for sale at the studio as well.
Sandra is an enthusiastic teacher. She has a bachelors and two masters degrees but she credits much of her knowledge and skills to individual artists with whom she has studied in classes and seminars over the last 25 years, influencing the style in which she now teaches. She gives special recognition to Johnnie Liliedahl for her teaching philosophy and personal guidance. Many of the projects included in Sandra’s Beginner Series are selected from Johnnie’s publications (with permission.) Sandra became a certified teacher in the Liliedahl School of Fine Art in January 2009.
