About Geri Arata . . .
a Liliedahl-Certified Oil Painting Instructor

Geri Arata is a native San Franciscan living in the East Bay Area forty minutes from San Francisco. She is a graduate from San Francisco State University, with a BFA. Her emphasis is in drawing and painting. After receiving her degree she took time off from her serious study of art to raise her two children. During that time she experimented with many different media such as porcelain, ceramics, jewelry, woodwork and tole painting.

Being interested in representational art, Geri felt that the education she received prior to her exposure to Liliedahl Fine Art Studio was sorely lacking in helping her achieve her goals. Armed with the skills and knowledge acquired through Johnnie Liliedahl, and the support her husband, Geri is currently enrolled in the Masters Fine Art program at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Geri recently sold her retail business of ten years in order to have more time to devote to the pursuit of art.

She was the sole owner of Village Crafters located in Castro Valley. The store showcased local crafters and artists.
