2008 SCHEDULE - 2009 SCHEDULE
On completion of all six of the Core Painting Workshops (Color Theory, Still Life, Landscape, Portrait, Old Master Flemish, Old Master Venetian), a student is eligible to take the next step designed to prepare him/her to teach the methods taught in this curriculum to their own local community classes.
The goal of the Teacher Certification program is to determine the level of understanding of the materials by the student, and his/her ability to execute and communicate the painting processes to their own student base. If a weakness is found in a particular area of study, that area will be the focus of the class for the individual to assure that he/she has a well-rounded foundation in all the subjects studied.
Completion of the six-day certification workshop will be required to receive Teacher Certification—where the teacher-candidate will be required to teach a workshop in each of the categories of Still-Life, Landscape, and Portrait to a volunteer group of painting students.
One must be familiar with all subject categories to be able to fully distinguish differences in the treatment of the different subjects by students in the studio versus students working out-of-doors and on-location. While the individual teacher may desire to teach only still-life, landscape or portrait, knowledge of all three is requisite to provide their potential students with an educated teacher.
Upon Certification, teachers will be advertised as “trained by Johnnie Liliedahl in the methods of the Old Masters.” Referrals will be given for classes the Certified Instructors teach at local and national levels, and their activities will be listed in our national advertising and on our website www.lilipubs.com.
They may also receive partner discounts on our line of art instruction publications for resale in their own studios and classes. Special workshops are offered exclusively for Certified Teachers, as well as opportunities to teach in Liliedahl Studio sponsored events. Teachers completing our course and earning our stamp of approval will be very special, indeed—and those we will be proud to have use of our name. Plan now to join this very exclusive group by beginning with this course of study.
